Jonatan (stylized as JUAN ALAN) is a Mexican multimedia drag artist, composer, singer, and writer whose work spans mex-infused experimental music, bilingual poetry, and cybernetic self-fiction. Blending digital aesthetics with physical vulnerability, His brand JuanDeAlan has been described as a “protagonistar of the future-present.”
Juan Alan began sharing audio-verse and visual journals online early 2020s. His debut audio project, PobreChiqueado Vol.1 (2023), fused distorted vocals with emotional synth loop satire. In March 2024 he self releases MonteCalvario (2024), a semi-sacred concept album themed around vivid grief and neon Catholicism.
In parallel, JuanDeAlan self-published a number of novella-length Inkitt projects: El Manantial (2021), a poetic bilingual dreamscape, and Historias Breves Para Gente Leve (2024), a collection of cyber-microfiction.
His work is known for its DIY aesthetics, gothic humor, and philosophical layering. Critics (self-published or imaginary...) often cite him as “Rosalina if she coded her own heartbreak.”
